Many people would not place this book in the category of Christian fiction, but...........

I have been in several car accidents, and as I think about it, each one has been worse than the previous.  I could leave this earth today, so could you.  The only insurance policy that you can benefit from in death is salvation, so I thought I should include this prayer.  So did you take God's invitation into the kindgom?  Did you share the book with someone who needs to?

I had better reserve comment on this topic so I don't give too much away.  How do you think the Marshalls will react?  Will Sean be able to insert any humor to make the situation better?

I cannot say why exactly I thought the story had to end this way, but from the first time I thought of this story 14 years ago, this was how it ended.  Even in proofreading, I don't like to read it.  I think part of my goal was to illustrate that there are some good black men out there and while many men disappear when the going gets tough, all of them don't.  I think you can tell by Kendall's portrayal that he is not going to walk away from Adrienne--not even now that the circumstances have changed.  Rather than writing in this blog I need to get to work on that sequel, proofreading and fixing, that is...It's Already Good!  I need a title though.

Maybe I'm not supposed to have a favorite part, but I did enjoy writing the part about the prom.  Every relationship must go through some trials.  You may have been expecting something else...on prom night from these two, but instead they had a fight.  I loved Eric hitting Shayna on the butt and her fear as she walked towards Kendall.  My other favorite part was the false alarm trip to the emergency center when Sean came to visit.  I don't have an older brother, but Sean's character just fits, he's a trip and a half ("I don't know what a cervix is and I don't need to see one get checked.")  I know I'm writing like I know these people, but I had to really create them in my head in order to "quote" them and make all thier comments "typical" of their character.  Yeah...I'm crazy.

Hello, I hope you enjoyed Good Girl.  If so, please share your comments.  Could you relate to anything you read?  Did you have a favorite part?  Were you prepared for the ending?  The book is called Good Girl indicating that it is primarily about Shayna, but did you like Kendall?  Do you know a Kendall?  All comments are welcome.  Thank you
